Established in 2020, the Friends of Palloures foundation supports the excavations and research at Chlorakas Palloures. Friends of Palloures is a recognized charity according to Dutch law (we have ANBI status) and donations are eligable for tax benefits.

The board consists of four Palloures veterans:

Aims and policy

The purpose of the foundation is:
a. to promote interest in the archaeological excavation project Chlorakas-Palloures, Cyprus, and the related research, management and public presentation of the site, as well as restoration work;
b. to promote interest in archaeological excavation projects in general in the Eastern Mediterranean region;
c. to provide financial support to the excavation project referred to under a. and to everything related to it.
The foundation also aims to perform all further acts that are related, in the broadest sense, to the objective mentioned above or that may be conducive to it.
The foundation seeks to achieve its objective, among other things, by:
a. disseminating information about the excavation and the broader context of the research through various communication channels (website, digital news channels, guided tours, lectures and meetings, and the publication of materials);
b. maintaining contacts with the management of the Chlorakas-Palloures excavation project, and with the archaeology programmes of Leiden University and the University of Cyprus, insofar as the latter is involved in this excavation project.
The foundation is non-profit and does not aim to make a profit.
